Backpacking at The Patterson's December 2025
The backpacking outing was a great experience. It was the start of training for those who are going to Philmont, and a fun hike for those who aren’t. The side of the road was to Icey to walk on, so we had to take the van to Warren Dunes. It was cold but fun. The only time people really got cool was when we stopped to eat. But as soon as we started hiking again, we warmed up. We had soup to eat. We had to bring backpacking stoves to cook the food. The small stoves were not hot enough to fully warm up the soup. It was cooked but not hot. We also got the chance to see Lake Michigan. Overall, it was a great fun outing.

Webelos Outing Camp ToPeNeBee Nov 2025
The Webelos outing was a good introduction to scouting for the Arrow of Light. Not only did we warmly welcome them to be temporarily part of our troop, but we also showed them the basics of a scout outing. For the game aspect, we played a good ol’ game of capture the flag. We had an amazing fire bowl, where we had to do it under the party tent because of the immense, ever-persistent rain. But a scout is flexible, so we still made it awesome, and everyone had a great time. Another thing we did was knot tying. It was a nice refresher on knots while also teaching the Webelos how to tie them. Mid-day, we went on a hike.It was a pretty fun hike, and we saw some interesting things. Most notably, the fishing dock, the sketchy log bridge, and finally, the jaw-dropping views that we saw. In conclusion, it was an amazing time for us all even if the weather despised us.

Canoeing Oct 2025
Our October outing was canoeing at Camp Tamarack in Jones, Michigan. We canoe 8 miles on the Saint Joseph River, and some of the group went even further. While we were canoeing, we stopped to eat lunch on an island made of rocks and pebbles. It probably would not have been there if the water level were high. While we were canoeing, we sometimes had to get out of our canoes to push them because they would get stuck because of the low water level. I think that it was an awesome outing and a good learning experience.

Fort Custer September 2025
Fort Custer was one of my favorite campouts of 2025. Our campsite had two beautiful lakes, great for fishing, on either side. Each morning, there was always a beautiful sunrise to wake up to. Later in the day, people on bicycles rode around, while others hiked along the many hiking trails in the area. At night, we sat around a campfire listening to music and having fun together. This was a great campout, and if the opportunity arises again this year, I encourage you guys to go and participate.

Haunted Forest Oct 2024
Our trip to D-A Scout Ranch in Metamora MI. 12 Scouts came on ths outing from our troop with 4 scout leaders. This was our first time in 10 years coming here to the haunted forest. The decorations were great and fun. Over 2000 cub scouts came. It was successful and fun to scare the cub scouts. The weather was really nice, around 75 degrees.

U.S.S. Silversides 2023
On December 8th, we drove to the USS Silversides Museum in Muskegon, MI. After exploring the museum, we boarded the submarine to choose our bunks and settle down for the night. This was a neat experience being on a real submarine!

After a fun night on the Silversides submarine, we went rock wall climbing and caving.

Food Drive 2023
Our Troop distributed bags and flyers in our community for a food drive pick up. A week later we picked up all the bags, sorted, boxed, and delivered to a community food pantry. Our food drive this eyar brought in over 1 ton of food!

Cabin Camp 2023
This weekend we hiked from the church down to the Paterson property. When we were there we learned good hiking skills such as bear bags, and water filtering. We played capture the flag. We also had a bonfire. On Sunday we walked back to the church. Overall a very fun weekend.

Catapult Building 2023
